Commercial to Residential Podcast Question

Joseph Jakuta
I enjoyed the Gold Mine podcast episode. As I was listening I had a thought and I am wondering if it’s being considered. Instead of switching commercial completely to residential is there any thought to going half and half? There would be some benefits of that. One it would be easier to distribute energy loads throughout the day and right size heat pump systems. There could be less noise issues at night for residents if half the floors vacated at 6. The buildings would remain vibrant throughout the day allowing for more thriving in restaurants. Plus they would be less susceptible to downturns in a type of market. I am sure the downside is that it makes some aspects more complex, but is there any research into this? It’s also kind of how we used to live anyway.
