Dual right turn lane designs dangerous for pedestrians?

Clint Johnston

Does anyone know where to find data on the danger of dual right turn lanes for pedestrians? To me it is obvious that a dual right turn lane is more dangerous for pedestrians than a single right turn lane, because the view of the crosswalk for drivers in the lane further from the corner will be partially obstructed by the cars in the turn lane closer to the corner. But when I make this argument to my city it would be helpful to have data to back that up and my google searches aren't returning much information on the safety of this design from a pedestrian perspective.

This question is motivated by the tragic death of a four year old girl in her stroller at the intersection of 4th and King St in San Francisco on August 16th 2023 when she and her father were run over by an SUV using the dual right turn lane from 4th onto King at the western-most corner of the intersection.
