Why does it seem like townhomes cost more than traditional single family homes when comparing the same square footage?
I am not sure if this is based on location, but here in north TX townhomes cost more over time when purchasing.
Also, why does the HOA for townhomes usually more expensive? HOA fees were between 175-300 monthly which significantly more than traditional single family homes (0-100 monthly fee). I saw that it included additional insurance as part of the HOA.
Are townhomes priced like this normally?
Also, I would think that because townhomes are more efficient use of land that the property tax burden would make it lower than tradition homes.
