Mainstreet Director: Charlotte Rising
The Charlotte, Michigan community is seeking a new full-time Director for its non-profit Main Street program, known as Charlotte Rising. Interested, qualified individuals should submit their applications for this important community & economic development leadership position.
The Charlotte Rising Director is responsible for helping to coordinate the growth and revitalization activities in Charlotte’s nationally recognized historic downtown commercial district using the Main Street Four-Point Approach. The Director is also responsible for helping lead the growth and development of the Main Street organization itself, which is working to cultivate a sustainable donor base and make use of every available resource.
Since its formation in 2017 CharlotteRising has led the way to a successful downtown redevelopment effort in our rural Mid-Michigan community. From filling storefronts, to championing public art and improving public spaces, CharlotteRising is recognized as a leading Main Street organization. The organization is looking for a leader who is able to build on our track record of success.
Applicants should have education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: economic development, commercial district management, non-profit management, public relations, marketing, land use planning, retail business, historic preservation, small business development, real estate or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. CharlotteRising is especially interested in hearing from candidates with a track record of fundraising success and non-profit growth and development. We are seeking a leader who is entrepreneurial, energetic, well-organized and capable of functioning in an independent environment, in order to stay abreast of the committees, events and tasks associated with the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, with positive and engaging social media experience. Experience in fundraising, along with network and relationship-building skills will be key.
The salary range is $40,000- $50,000, plus a basic benefit package, depending on qualifications. In addition, an incentive pay structure that rewards fundraising success will allow the right candidate to enhance the compensation package beyond these minimums.
