FAQs
-
Do I need to register for each session?
No, registration only needs to happen once! After registering, you’ll continue to receive event reminders, and if you add the event to your calendar, it will include all future sessions. The same Zoom link will be used for every session, so you’re all set after signing up!
-
What happens if I miss the session when my question gets asked and answered live?
Don’t worry! All sessions are recorded, and we’ll send you a link to watch the discussion of your pre-submitted question. You can also access our full archive of past sessions here.
-
How are topics selected?
The Strong Towns team reviews all newly submitted questions, grouping them into general topics that align with member interests. Each session is then curated with these topics in mind, often tying them to ongoing campaigns or featured programming. -
Can non-members attend?
We generally limit attendance to Strong Towns members to ensure space and discussion time for our member community. However, we occasionally make exceptions for special events or circumstances.
- Can I submit a question even if I can’t attend the live session?
Yes! You’re welcome to submit a question in advance, and we’ll do our best to address it during the session. Afterward, we’ll send you the recording so you can catch up on the discussion.
-
What type of questions are best to submit?
We encourage questions that are specific, actionable, and related to Strong Towns principles or challenges you're facing in your community. This helps ensure that the answers provided are helpful and relevant to you and others.

Still Making Up Your Mind on Whether To Attend?
We offer these Ask Strong Towns Anything sessions because we know that the challenges facing communities are complex and multifaceted, and finding solutions often requires thoughtful conversation. These sessions provide a space for members to bring their questions, concerns, and ideas to a supportive environment where they can be explored in depth. Whether you’re just starting to engage with Strong Towns principles or have been working on local issues for years, the discussions are designed to be accessible and clarifying. Talking through challenges with others often uncovers insights, reveals new possibilities, and helps participants leave with a clearer path forward.
The dynamic nature of these Zoom calls is one of its greatest strengths. Regular attendees often contribute valuable insights from their own experiences, making the conversation richer and more rewarding for everyone. No prior knowledge is required to join, but those who participate consistently find themselves growing in understanding and confidence to tackle the issues in their communities. The hour always seems to fly by, leaving participants energized and better equipped to create positive change where they live!
