Speed studies can help us strengthen our understanding of traffic patterns; they are useful tools when evaluating safety issues associated with roadway segments and intersections. Strong Towns has advised members that are critiquing transportation systems within their neighborhoods to conduct their own speed studies. Strong Towns formalized their instructions on this exercise to support on-the-ground research necessary for conducting Crash Analysis Studio (CAS) episodes.
