Grissom Road and Old Grissom Road are located in San Antonio, Texas amidst multiple residential neighborhoods. This intersection is near 3 state highways (Texas 16, Texas 151, and the 1604 loop) and Interstate 410. The western end of Grissom Road connects to the 1604, while the eastern end connects to the Texas 16. The crash location is nearby at least two elementary schools; Timberwilde Elementary is northwest of the intersection and Virginia A. Myers is to the southwest. There are also a variety of commercial establishments in the surrounding area.

• The crash at this location occurred around 5:59 p.m. on May 12, 2023. 
• A Toyota Highlander was driving north on Old Grissom Road and prepared to take a left turn onto Grissom Road, thinking that approaching Vehicle B was preparing to turn right. 
• Vehicle B - a Lexus IS - was actually traveling eastbound in the outer lane of Grissom Road and hit the Highlander as it pulled out into the intersection.  
• The speed limit on Grissom Road is 45 miles per hour (mph); the speed limit on Old Grissom Road is 35 mph. 
• While the crash report states that neither party was injured, it does not indicate if witness statements or surveillance footage were available.
