Panelist List

  • Carly Haithcock is an Associate Principal Engineer at Nelson\Nygaard based in Austin, Texas. She specializes in active transportation and infrastructure planning, with experience delivering projects both locally in Austin and nationwide. While pursuing graduate studies in city planning in Memphis, she discovered the good side of civil engineering: designing for people. Carly particularly enjoys when work is both art and science.

  • Leta Moser has been car free her entire life and navigates locally and nationally on two wheels. As a citizen-cyclist, she is a strong advocate for cyclist-centric design and lives in the outcomes of policy, infrastructure, and legal decisions. She dreams of towns where 15-minute neighborhoods are the norm.

  • Jay Blazek Crossley is former Executive Director of Farm&City, a Texas think-and-do tank that led Vision Zero Texas for ten years—seeing real progress in policy, design, and funding, with still a long way to go. Farm&City paused operations in 2025. Jay lives in Austin's St. John neighborhood with his wife and son, and his kid just finished up at Reilly Elementary, right at the corner of Denson and Guadalupe where this crash occurred. He rides his bike in those lanes and drives those streets multiple times a week, and every school day he waves good morning to the friendly crossing guard as his family crosses that intersection to meet the carpool.
